Building the new WAHIS+ together. Answer this questionnaire and help the OIE adapt the interface to your needs.
Answers marked with * are required.
Objectives and background
To improve the scientific quality of services rendered to OIE Member Countries through IT technological advances, in 2016 the OIE initiated the renovation of WAHIS and its interface. This questionnaire is aimed at people and organisations working with animal health data that either use or are interested in using the WAHIS Interface.
The goal of this survey is to determine users' needs regarding data access and display, as well as to provide suggestions for the new
to meet the expectations of the Member Countries.
WAHIS Interface provides free access to all data within OIE's World Animal Health Information System (WAHIS). It is an on-line reporting system that collects and reports data provided by OIE Member and Non-Member Countries. After verification and validation by the World Animal Health Information and Analysis Department of the OIE, all data notified by reporting countries is then published and made available to the public.
Information is also available through a variety of interfaces including a smart phone application (WAHIS Alerts) and Handistatus for data submitted between 1996 and 2004. In addition, World Animal Health (WAH) is a semi-customizable data extraction tool for animal health information, including animal populations, veterinary capabilities and zoonoses. The WAHIS-wild interface displays information only for wild animal diseases that are not OIE-listed but may have a serious impact on livestock health and public health and can adversely affect wildlife conservation.
The OIE will anonymize all responses, so please be as frank, open and honest as possible, and submit your views by April, 27 2017. There are 17 questions and it should only take around 20 minutes of your time.
