1.
I support the performance of a manpower study to analyze the effects of the current mandatory technician certification law on Iowa pharmacies. The study should be conducted as soon as possible.

2.
I support the polling of all pharmacists and technicians in Iowa to measure their support for the law as currently written vs. enactment of a law similar to Florida's technician law. Under the Florida law, a person is allowed to work as a technician if they either:
• Complete a Board approved training program or
• Have successfully passed either the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam (PTCE) or the Examination for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT) or
• Have worked a minimum of 1,500 hours under a licensed RPh

3.
Delay implementation of the current technician law until points 2 and 3 above are completed
