CIMdata Digital Twin Survey

For more than a decade, digitalization has been the order of the day. In a recent CIMdata survey, 88% of industrial respondents said their firm had an on-going digital transformation initiative. CIMdata believes that product companies pursuing digital transformation need a solid product lifecycle management (PLM) strategy and implementation to maximize their chance of success.

At the same time, other digital concepts like the digital thread and the digital twin have come to the fore and are getting a lot of attention from industrial companies and software and service providers. The roots of digital twins extend back to NASA mirroring complex electromechanical systems in the space program. Digital technologies allow us to "mirror" or virtually represent any product or system we can imagine, and test it against a range of criteria,  often outside of product development, to support the complete product lifecycle.

To help CIMdata and the PLM Economy better understand the challenges and opportunities afforded by digital twins, CIMdata is asking industrial practitioners to share their knowledge and experience through this survey. Only summary statistics and charts of your responses will be published by the CIMdata team.
